The MV Arca is an informal steel hulled Amazon
expedition river boat built and operating out of the city of
Iquitos -
Peru. With only 95 feet in length and shallow draft the Arca is
the ideal vessel to explore the Rivers and hard to reach tributaries
of the Upper Amazon region.
The
three deck MV Arca was refurbished in 2005 and holds a total of 20
passengers in four double cabins with bunk beds, two double cabins
with single beds and two cabins with single beds. All cabins are
fitted with cedar and mahogany and equipped with their own individual air
conditioner and shower/bath.
Meals of both International and regional cuisine are served buffet
style in the air conditioned dining room while seasonal exotic
fruits are available for snacks and juices. The area around the outside bar,
which serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, is the social gathering spot before
and
after the many shore excursions. The Arca also has ample covered
and uncovered deck space from where you can observe the Amazon River
and areas to be visited during the programs.
Just find a comfortable deck chair to sit and watch the forest for
birds and monkeys. Several hammocks are available for your siesta.
Professional bi-lingual Naturalist guides accompany passengers on all
shore excursions into the jungle and during river explorations by
shore boats. The all Peruvian crew will do all they can to make your
stay onboard as pleasant and informative as possible. |
