
Built
in 1990, the M/V Galapagos Explorer II is the most elegant of
the vessels cruising the Galapagos' waters. It has been designed
to provide both comfort and scientific information to 100
passengers visiting the Galapagos National Park, this vessel
travels up to the remotest islands of the Archipelago.
The M/V Galapagos Explorer II was part of the International
Cruise Line "Renaissance" and operates in the Galapagos Islands
since February 1998. It is not only a vessel adapted to the
eco-tourism operations that provides environmental education and
interpretation on the Galapagos, it also has all the
installations and necessary services to guarantee guided
experiences on the islands. Its operation is emphasized
with interesting itineraries that offer the best of this
pristine paradise. Expert naturalist guides will offer an
environmentally friendly and educational cruise focused in the
Natural History of the Galapagos.
The "all suite" Galapagos Explorer
offers 50 exterior suites with amenities in every suite
like mini bar, sitting area, walk-in closets in some cases and
panoramic windows (portholes only in the Magellan Deck). The
ship also has a Boutique, Library, Karaoke Bar, Conference Room,
Restaurant, Jacuzzi, Solarium, observatory deck, 24 hours coffee
and tea Station, Medical Assistance, Massage Suite and Satellite
communication.
Furthermore, passengers will have
the opportunity to have an underwater experience, without diving
or snorkeling on two glass bottom boats. Passengers who are
unable to participate in diving or snorkeling activities can
observe the variety of underwater species in the Islands on
board these glass bottom boats.
