Description: There
is a Lima that never changes, which lives in elegance and
style as centuries pass by. Discover the colonial legacy of
the Lima governed by Spanish Viceroys; contrast it with a
modern Lima, a geographic hub for modern commerce and, to
many, the gastronomic capital of Latin America. Take
advantage of the best assortment of museums in the country
while learning about a myriad of cultures that made what we
know now as Peru. A short trip south allows us to experience
an archeological mystery and a natural wonder: The Nazca
lines and the Ballestas islands.

Day 1
- Tuesday *
Lima / City tour & Larco Museum
AM - Our services
will begin upon your arrival at the airport of Lima where our local
representative will be waiting for you outside the customs area. You
will be assisted with your luggage followed by the transfer to
Hotel Sonesta Posada del Inca Miraflores (or similar).
Our representative
will give you a documentation kit with detailed information about
the program. Check-in at the hotel and remainder of the morning at
leisure.

PM -
In the afternoon you will be picked up for city tour
essential Lima, “The City of Kings”. The tour will include the most
important architectural icons of the city, such as the Main Square,
where we can find the Government Palace, the City Hall, the
Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace. We continue with a visit to
the Convent of San Francisco, an architectonic jewel dating back
to the 16th century. At the Larco Museum we will observe
some of the best-kept collection of findings from the Incas and
Peruvian Pre-Inca coastal cultures. A highlight is the Erotic Huacos
Room, where we find a sample of little statues made of mud that show
the sexual beliefs of ancient Peruvians. On our way back to the
modern area of the city, we cross the exclusive district of San
Isidro, the new financial heart of the city, to take a look at
pre-Inca Huaca Huallamarca. Finally, we conclude our circuit in
Miraflores, where we will visit the “Parque del Amor” (Love Park),
an excellent spot to enjoy a great view of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 2 -
Wednesday
Lima - Ica - Nazca /
Travel to Ica - City tour and over flight Nazca lines
AM -
After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the bus
station where we board a luxurious coach for the 4 hour ride to Ica.
The ride itself is an experience as it will take you along the
Pacific coast south to Pisco and on to Ica where we will check in at
Hotel Las Dunas (or similar).
PM -
Later we will be
taken to the local airport to take a light aircraft and enjoy the
short flight over the Nazca Lines. It is an incredible view to see
several figures drawn on the sandy soil, representing animals and
stylized plants, distributed over a huge area, along with lines,
trapezes, triangles and spirals, preserved for almost 2000 years,
according to specialists. On the return to the hotel our guide will
take us on a city tour, including a visit to the local museum and
one of the famous vineyards where Pisco, the national spirit, is
made. For the more adventurous we offer optional programs like dune
buggy rides or sand-boarding.

Day 3 -
Thursday Ballestas Islands
& Paracas National Reserve / Visit and return to Lima
AM -
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel followed by
a transfer to
Paracas Bay. Here we board a motorboat for a two hour motorboat
excursion to the Ballestas Islands, also known as the "Galapagos of
Peru". These beautiful islands are located in front of the Paracas
National Reserve and are part of a very large natural system of
islands on the Pacific shores. The islands are home to hundreds of
migratory and local birds, which share their habitat with large
groups of sea lions and fur seals. During the excursion you will
find a mysterious design over the hill, called “El Candelabro” (The
Chandelier).
PM - In the afternoon we will
take the bus back to Lima. Upon arrival at the bus
station you will be transferred to
Hotel Sonesta Posada del Inca Miraflores (or similar)
where you will check in for the night.
EVE - Evening at leisure in Lima and overnight at the hotel.

Friday Lima / Transfer out
