Description: The Cuzco and Machu Picchu
Classic program takes you on an unforgettable journey from
Lima to the Andes, Cuzco and the lost city of the Incas,
Machu Picchu.
This tour includes air from Lima to Cuzco and back, city
tours in Lima and Cuzco, tours of the Sacred valley of the
Incas and Machu Picchu and a choice of accommodations in
Lima and the Cuzco / Machu Picchu areas, guided services on
all transfers and tours by professional bi-lingual guides
and meals as indicated. Extension programs to
Lake Titicaca, the
Amazon,
Ica and Nazca and other changes are available upon

Day 1 - Friday
- LIMA
PM or EVE - Arrival transfer and
overnight
Our program and services will begin upon arrival of participants at
the airport of
Lima -
Peru. Our local representative will be waiting for you outside
the customs area to assist with luggage and provide the transfer to
your local hotel in the San Isidro or Miraflores area of the city.
The remainder of the day at leisure in Lima.

Day 2 -
Saturday
- LIMA / CUZCO
AM - Transfer and flight
to Cuzco
 After breakfast at the hotel prepare for a morning transfer for the
flight to the magical city of Cuzco. Enjoy the flight with
spectacular views of the Andes’ mountains with its snow capped
peaks. Upon arrival in Cuzco you will be met by your local guide who
will assist with your luggage and provide the transfer to the hotel.
A cup of coca tea will be served which will help you get accustomed
to the altitude. Check in and relax for a while.
PM - City tour and visit
nearby ruins
In the early afternoon you will be picked up from the hotel for a
city tour of Cuzco. Drive the cobble stone streets of this typical
city and observe the many remains of the Inca culture even within
the limits of the city. The tour will include a visit to the
Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun. Later we leave Cuzco by van or
bus for a visit to the nearby Inka ruins at the Sacsayhuaman
Fortress and the Inka bath at Tambomachay.

Day 3 - Sunday
- CUZCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
AM & PM - Full day tour
Wake up in the city of Cuzco. You may want to head out of the
hotel for a stroll along the main Plaza and observe the daily
morning routine before the departure by bus to the Sacred Valley of
the Incas. Here we will visit the colorful Indian market of Pisac
where hundreds of locals from the area gather to sell their goods
and handicrafts. Lunch will be served at a typical restaurant or
hacienda in the valley. After lunch we will cross the valley to
explore the Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo before the transfer to your
local hotel.

Day 4 - Monday
- SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS /
AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU PICCHU
AM - Transfer and train ride
Wake up surrounded by the mountains of the Andes. The cool morning
and the astonishing views will leave long-lasting memories. After
breakfast at the hotel depart on the transfer to the train station
at Ollantaytambo. From here we will board the train for a 1 ½ hour
ride alongside the fast flowing Urubamba river to Aguas Calientes,
located at the bottom of the trail that leads to the citadel of
Machu Picchu.
PM - Guided tour of the ruins of
Machu Picchu
Lunch will be served followed by our visit to the world famous ruins
of Machu Picchu, also called, the "Lost City of the Incas". These
well-preserved pre Colombian Inca ruins are located about 70
kilometers (44 miles) northwest of Cuzco at an altitude of 2,350
meters (7,710 feet) above sea level. Our knowledgeable guide will
explain you about the Incas and the fortress they built here. It is
hard not to sense the magic of this place, forgotten for centuries
by the outside world until Hiram Bingham, a Yale archeologist,
re-discovered Machu Picchu in 1911 and brought it to international
attention.

Day 5 - Tuesday
- AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU
PICCHU AREA / CUZCO
AM - At leisure
Wake up close to Machu Picchu. Enjoy the morning and part of the
afternoon at leisure. You may want to visit Machu Picchu for a
second time or climb Huayna Picchu, the mountain in front of Machu
Picchu, for an incredible view of the ruins.
PM - Train
ride and transfer
In the afternoon you will board the train for the return to Cuzco,
where you will arrive in the early evening hours.
EVE - From the station we will provide the transfer to
your local hotel where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 6 -
Wednesday
- CUZCO
AM & PM - At leisure
After several days of activities you will surely enjoy a day at
leisure in the Cuzco area. Relax in this friendly city of maybe you
would like to take a bicycle or horseback ride along the countryside
or for the more adventurous maybe a river rafting trip along the
Urubamba river. Just let us know and we will
be glad to arrange it for you.
EVE - Folkloric dinner show
On this last evening in Cuzco you will be picked up
from the hotel for a folkloric dinner show at a local restaurant.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 - Thursday
- CUZCO / LIMA
AM - Transfer and flight to Lima
 Breakfast at the hotel. Time permitting there may be some time for
last minute shopping in Cuzco before a morning transfer to the
airport and the one hour return flight to Lima.
PM - City tour of Lima Modern
and Colonial
Upon arrival at the airport of Lima you will be met again by our
local representative who will assist you with your luggage and take
you on a city tour of Lima Modern and Colonial. You will see the
contrasts of the "new" and "old" in this bustling city of some 7
million people. The tour will end with an early dinner at a local
restaurant before the return to the airport or drop-off at a local
hotel.)
