Day 7 - Thursday
- AMAZON RIVER
AM - You may want to wake up early and observe a unique
sunrise over the Amazon, an always incredible spectacle of colors.
The sun deck is an ideal place to observe the changes between night
and day. Breakfast will be served while the ship arrives at Chimbote
for a document check. While the crew takes care of the formalities
we board the shore boats to cross the river into an area where
tributaries and lakes are covered with vegetation. This is a great
place to observe the flora and fauna of the Amazon and our guides
will take us up small tributaries and remote lakes for the best
photo opportunities. After the vessel has cleared its routine
document check it will slowly continue up the Amazon River where we
will rendezvous with it.
PM - After lunch the vessel will dock at the small port of
the village of San Pablo. We disembark for a short visit of the
village where we get a chance to observe the friendly locals and
their customs or maybe purchase some of their handicrafts. By mid
afternoon we get back on board and leave the village behind us. The
Rio Amazonas will head back upriver now in direction of the Peruate
River.
EVE - Dinner will be served, followed by a
night exploration by launch up the Peruate River to listen to the
sounds of the jungle and spot Amazon caiman. The remainder of the
night can be enjoyed on board.

Day 8 - Friday
- AMAZON RIVER
AM - In the morning hours, just after breakfast, the Rio
Amazonas will arrive at a Yagua Indian village. We will disembark
here and visit the village. Our guides will teach us about the
customs, traditions and beliefs of this tribe. The men still hunt in
the jungle while the woman stay in the village with the children.
You may want to trade some of your manufactured goods for native
handicrafts produced by the tribe.
PM - Lunch on board while the vessel sails upriver.
Late afternoon
we arrive at the Apayacu River where we will explore this beautiful
black water river and its lakes. Like in many places of the Amazon
River and its tributaries we can observe fresh water dolphins
hunting for their prey in spots where two rivers meet.
EVE - Farewell dinner on board. Enjoy the evening with the
guides and fellow travelers. The crew will join us for our last
evening on board with some music.

Day
9 - Saturday
- AMAZON RIVER / IQUITOS
AM - Early morning arrival in the city of Iquitos. Say
goodbye to new found friends and transfer to
the airport for the flight back to the big city, Lima. Upon arrival
you will be met by our local guide who will provide you with
assistance and the transfer to hotel
Los Delfines (or similar).
PM - No activities are scheduled for this afternoon. After seven days on the Amazon River you will surely
enjoy the remainder of the day at in Lima on your own.
EVE - Evening at leisure and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10
- Sunday
- LIMA - CUZCO - PISAC -
SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
AM - Early breakfast at the hotel. The guides will pick you
up for the transfer to the airport and your flight to the historical
city of
Cuzco. Upon arrival in Cuzco you will be met by our local
representative who will assist you with your luggage and provide the
transfer downtown where a cup of coca tea will be served giving you
some time to get acclimatized to the altitude. Later we depart to
the Sacred Valley of the Incas where we visit the colorful Indian
market of Pisac. Hundreds of locals from the area gather to sell
their goods and handicrafts here. Lunch will be served at a typical
restaurant or hacienda in the valley. After lunch we will cross the
valley to explore the Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo before the
transfer to your local hotel.

Day 11
- Monday
- SACRED VALLEY OF THE
INCAS / OLLANTAYTAMBO / MACHU PICCHU / AGUAS CALIENTES
AM - Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Our guide will
pick us up from the hotel for the transfer to the train station in
Ollantaytambo. Here we board the train that will take us on a one
hour ride alongside the fast flowing Urubamba River to Aguas
Calientes, located on the shores of the Urubamba River and gateway
to Machu Picchu (NOTE: Adventurous travelers may want to try their
luck at
river rafting). From here we board the bus for a 25 minute ride
zigzag up the mountain to the top to finally arrive at the
culmination of this tour, the impressive and world famous Ruins of
Machu Picchu.
PM - Lunch will be served at the entrance to the ruins
followed by an afternoon guided tour of the ruins. The guide will
explain about the history and culture of the Incas who built and
lived in this incredible place. Late in the afternoon we will take
the bus back to Aguas Calientes where we check in at hotel
Hatuchay
Tower (or similar) for
overnight.
EVE - Evening at leisure in Aguas Calientes. Overnight at the
hotel.

Day 12
- Tuesday
- AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHU
PICCHU / CUZCO
AM - Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the morning and part of
the early afternoon at leisure in the Machu Picchu area. You may
want to hike up to Machu Picchu (or take the bus - not included) or
climb Huayna Picchu, the mountain in front of Machu Picchu for a
great view of the ruins. Enjoy the area with plenty of great photo
opportunities.
PM - Mid afternoon pick up from the hotel and 3 1/2 hour
train ride back to Cuzco (in occasions we will disembark the train
in Pisac and return the last portion by bus to save time). Upon
arrival in Cuzco transfer to
Novotel hotel (or similar) where you will check in for
the night.

EVE - Evening ay leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13
- Wednesday
- CUZCO / SACSAYHUAMÁN
AM - Breakfast at the hotel and morning at leisure in
the historical city of Cuzco.
PM
- The guide will pick you up at the hotel for a city tour of
Cuzco and a visit of the nearby Inca ruins of Sacsayhuamán. Your
bi-lingual guide will show and explain the different sites within
the city as you drive by the Cathedral and the temple of Koricancha.
Later we visit the ruins of Sacsayhuamán and the amphitheatre of
Kenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay.
EVE - Farewell dinner at a typical restaurant in Cuzco. Enjoy
a typical Peruvian meal or order your International favorite while a
folkloric group will perform their music and dances. Overnight at
the hotel.

Day 14
- Thursday
- CUZCO / LIMA
AM -
Breakfast at the hotel. Time permitting, you may have a chance to do
some last minute shopping for handicrafts in the city of Cuzco.
Paintings, leather goods and Alpaca sweaters are some of the
favorites. Later the guide will provide the transfer to the airport
where you will be assisted with check in for the return flight to
Lima. Enjoy the flight over the snow capped mountains of the Andes.
PM - Upon your arrival in Lima you will be greeted by our
local representative who will take you on a city tour of Lima
Modern and Colonial. Our bi-lingual guide will explain about the
history of the city and show you the contrasts of what old and new
Lima. An early dinner will be served at a local restaurant before
the transfer back to the airport (or hotel in Lima) for the
International flight leaving Peru.
