This full day tour (the exact
duration of the excursion depends greatly on flight schedules and
availability of seats at the time of booking) will take
you to the beautiful small island of Providencia, located some 60
miles (95 kilometers) NNE from San Andres.

- Providencia is also called "La Isla
de la Fantasia" - Fantasy island - Because of its isolation and its "primitive" lifestyle,
Providencia is the ideal spot to spend some time to relax. Far away
from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities you will
find beautiful isolated beaches
that invite you to swim, dive, water-ski or practice any other water
related sport. The town offers some shopping, good restaurants and a
quiet atmosphere. This island of only 17
square kilometers is an oasis in the middle of the sea. Besides its
beautiful beaches, Providencia has areas of fertile land where
locals grow tropical fruits for consumption. While tourism is
the most important source of income on the island, Providencia is also
famous for its Lobster. |

The day will begin with an early morning pick up from your hotel in San Andres and
the transfer to the airport (exact
time and additional instructions will be given when you are in San
Andres). You will board a small plane that
will take you on a 30 minute flight to the island of Providencia
where the local guide will welcome you (Click
here for a map of San Andres).
Your local guide will be waiting for you at the airport of the small
island of Providencia. Transfer to a local restaurant for breakfast followed by a boat
tour around the island. The boat tour takes us to Morgan Head, the
Warwick Pier, Lovers Bridge where we stay for about 20 minutes. Here
we have some time to walk around before we continue to South West
Bay, Cayo Cangrejo and Manzanillo. Enjoy the views of deserted beaches and the
landscape of the island. There will be plenty of time to take a dip
in the crystal clear waters for some snorkeling. Admire the
wonderful undersea habitat of the Caribbean.
Lunch will be served later in the day at a typical restaurant. There
will be time to explore on your own before the return flight to San
Andres later in the afternoon.
Upon return in San Andres you will be transferred back to your
hotel.
