Tour
Description: The Brazil Trekking Adventure has been specially designed
for those who wish to explore the beautiful and diverse nature
of Brazil.
During this tour you will visit Rio de Janeiro from where
the tour departs, with a
tour of Corcovado & Tijuca Forest by Jeep and Hiking with
Climbing at Sugar Loaf Mountain. From Rio we fly North to the
Amazon where we stay in Manaus for one night before heading
into the rainforest for a two night exploration with
overnights at a Jungle Lodge. After the Amazon experience we
continue and fly to
Salvador for a one night stopover to go on to Chapada
Diamantina for two nights where we discover the incredible rock
formations and views this area has to offer. This is surely
one of the best programs for Nature Lovers.

Day 1
- Rio de Janeiro / Transfer in -
City tour, Corcovado, Christ the Redeemer, dinner
AM -
Our services will
begin upon your arrival in
Rio de Janeiro.
You will be met by our local, English speaking, guide outside the
customs area of the airport. Transfer to
Hotel Orla Copacabana
(or similar) where
you will check in and take some rest.

PM -
In the afternoon
you will tour Corcovado, the Christ Redeemer and Tijuca Forest by
Jeep. The tour begins at the hotel’s front entrance, driving along
the shores of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas onto the highlands of the
Tijuca National Park where Corcovado Hill is locate. All along the
ascent, magnificent shots of Rio are available from every possible
angle, before reaching the Monument to Christ the Redeemer at an
altitude of 2,300 ft. After the visit, the tour continues through
the forest to the park’s headquarters with more attractions such as
Taunay Fall and the Mayrink Chapel. On the way back, we will have
more spectacular views of Rio all the way down to São Conrado Beach,
the hand glider's landing grounds, and the beaches of Leblon,
Ipanema and Copacabana.
EVE - In the evening dinner at a local restaurant and
overnight at the hotel.

Day 2
- Rio de Janeiro / Sugar
loaf mountain
AM & PM - Today we leave the hotel for a full day hiking tour climbing at Sugar Loaf
mountain to reach the top of Rio's most famous postcard. In the
company of our guides, you will get a taste of a beautiful hike with
a little climbing for beginners. Watch the landscape of Guanabara
Bay and Copacabana beach from above.
EVE -
In the evening
dinner at Mariu's Carnes Barbecue and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 -
Rio de Janeiro - Manaus (Amazon) / Transfer out, Flight to Manaus, Transfer
in & City tour
AM - Early
morning transfer for the flight to
Manaus
in the
Amazon
region.
Upon
arrival at the airport of Manaus you will be met and transferred to
Hotel Tropical
(or similar). At 9:00 AM you will leave the hotel for a city tour of
Manaus. You will visit the Amazonas Theater, inaugurated on 1896,
and with no doubt one of the most important tourist attractions in
the city. Symbol of the Rubber Boom, all of its richness and
grandiosity of that time are still transmitted through its corridors
and halls, decorated with works of art. Following, there is a brief
stop in front of the Rio Negro Palace, the former official site of
the state government and a beautiful example of architecture of the
golden rubber era (1890-1910). Drive by the popular houses built on
stilts (palafitas), close to a small river (igarapé). Visit to the
Indian Museum, organized by Sallesians Sorority Congregation, the
best place to understand the traditions, way of life and habits of
Upper Rio Negro Indians Populations. You will also visit the
municipal market "Adolpho Lisboa", from where we can see the
floating harbor. Return to the hotel around 12:30 PM (NOTE:
City tour is available only from Monday to
Saturday as
Museums and
Theater are closed
on
Sundays and
Holidays)

Day 4
- Manaus - Juma Lodge -
Amazon Rainforest / Full day of activities
AM -
Early morning wake up for breakfast and a 7:00 am departure
to the jungle.
The three hour transfer will take us by speed boat, van and speed
boat again to
Juma Lodge (or similar). Keeps your eyes open during
this trip as you might encounter some pink dolphins on the
way. Enjoy your first contact with the jungle and observe the giant
water lilies, the majestic trees (Brazil Nuts and Sumaumas), the
birds and the local communities. A welcome drink, prepared with
exotics fruits, will be waiting for you upon your arrival at the
lodge.
PM - After
checking in and a little rest, lunch will be served. Meals are a
creative fusion between international and Amazon cuisine. In the
afternoon you will head out for a reconnaissance tour through the
igarapés (Amazonian creeks) and the igapós (flooded forest) in
motorized canoes. Experience the beauty of the Amazon Flora and
Fauna before returning to the lodge.
EVE - In
the evening hours the guides will take you out on a canoe ride to
observe the night fauna in search of the Amazon Caiman (alligators),
frogs and birds. Stay alert to the mysterious sounds of the forest
and the starry sky. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5
- Juma Lodge - Amazon
Rainforest /
Full day of activities
AM -
Waking up in the middle of the rainforest will leave long-lasting
memories. The sounds of the forest are something we will never
forget. Breakfast with typical fruits and regional food will be
served before leaving the lodge for a morning jungle hike. Once
penetrating the Amazon forest you can feel its charm and
greatness. All tours are led by a lodge guide with great knowledge
of the area. They will explain the use of jungle "products", the
history of the area and the way locals live in this region.
PM - Lunch will be served back at the lodge. After some
leisure time we will go out fishing Amazon style and learn more
about the indigenous species of the Amazon (piranha, peacock
bass). While enjoying the sunset, return to Juma, observing the
Capped Herons and the Cormorant transform the landscape into an
amazing show.
EVE - Dinner
will be complemented by the fish you caught earlier, cooked the
Amazon way. Overnight at the Lodge.

Day 6
- Juma Lodge - Amazon
Rainforest - Manaus - Salvador / Transfer out, Flight to Salvador, Transfer in
AM -
Even before breakfast we
leave on an early morning sunrise excursion, witnessing the
transformation of the dark water of the Juma River into a mirror of
the sights and sounds of the waking birds leaving their nests for
another day. After breakfast we begin the return to Manaus. On the
way back we can see a Sumaúma, the largest tree of the
Amazon. Another important stop is the meeting of the waters, where
the muddy waters of the Solimões River (Amazon River) and the black
waters of the Negro River run side by side, without mixing, to form
the great Amazonas River. Upon request, the guide will take you to a
dive spot, where you can feel for yourself the 8o C. (14o F.)
difference in temperature between the two rivers, a truly unique
experience. We will arrive in Manaus at around 11:30 am, in time for
the transfer to the airport for the flight to Salvador / Bahia.
PM -

Day 7
- Salvador & Chapada
Diamantina / Transfer by road to Chapada Diamantina
AM - Breakfast at the hotel followed by a pick-up and an
early morning
departure to Lençóis. Transportation will be provided by luxury air
conditioned bus with toilet. Enjoy the six hour sightseeing
transfer to Lençóis at Chapada Diamantina with one stop en route for
refreshments. Upon arrival you will
check in at the
Portal de Lençóis.

PM - After lunch we depart for an afternoon light trekking
trip to the natural pools of the Serrano River. From there, it is a
short walk to the nearby caves where ancient rock is disintegrating
into fine multi-colored sand. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool at
the base of the Primavera waterfall completes this afternoon trip.

Day 8
- Chapada Diamantina /
Full day activities
AM & PM - Today you will go out on a full day
tour taking in the
most important sights and sites of the Chapada Diamantina including:
the stunning stalagmites and stalactites of the mysterious Lapa Doce
cave; the crystal clear waters of the Pratinha subterranean lake and
Pai Inácio Mountain for the definitive panoramic view of the Chapada
region and the best sunset in the region. Lunch will be served en
route included.
EVE -
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9

Chapada Diamantina / Full day activities
AM & PM - Full day exploration of the Chapada Diamantina
with lunch box. Your guide will take you on a tour to visit caves,
Pai Inácio and Poço do Diabo.

Day 10
- Chapada Diamantina -
Salvador / Transfer to Salvador, Dinner show
AM -
Early morning at leisure before the transfer back
to Salvador.
PM -
Arrive at

in Salvador at around 6:00 pm.
EVE -
On
this last night you will enjoy
“Bahia By
Night”, an excursion that takes you to Solar do Unhão, one of
Salvador’s oldest and most atmospheric buildings, originally used
for the importation of slaves. Here you will enjoy a full buffet of
the exotic cuisine of Bahia and a dazzling folklore show of Bahian
music and dance. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11
- Salvador / City tour &
Transfer out
AM & PM -
After
breakfast a morning historical city tour passing by Porto da Barra
(the historical mark of the foundation of the city), Barra Slope,
Vitória Church and Square, Carlos Costa Pinto Museum, July 2nd
Square, Castro Alves Theatre, São Pedro Fort, Our Lady of Mercy
Church, Rosary Church, São Bento Monastery, Castro Alves Square,
D'Ajuda Church, Cathedral Square, Voodoo House (Terreiro de Jesus),
Basilica Cathedral, San Francisco Church, Pelourinho Square, Our
Lady of the Rosary Church, Carmo Slope, Third Order of Carmo Church,
Carmo Church, Carmo Museum including lunch at local restaurant.
Later, transfer
to airport for your flight out.
