The Macuco Tour
begins at the Brazilian National Park, just 3 kilometers from the
Iguassú Falls (transfers are available upon request). From here you will take an open-air wagon pulled by a
jeep, accompanied by bilingual guide. The wagon allows for an
unhindered view of this lush, sub-tropical, intact ecosystem rich of
rare birds, mammals, orchids and epiphytes.
After a short ride, we hike down the canyon where the Macuco Falls
tumble over basalt cliffs into the Iguassú Basin. On the border of
the river, we embark a specially designed inflatable boat, for a 20
to 30 minute ride up into the canyon, the real border between the
Brazilian and Argentinean National Parks.
After observing the falls from
land, viewing it now from the river, via a thrilling zodiac ride
along the rapids, to the smaller falls and through and under the
falls this will for sure be an unforgettable experience.
This is an
amazing experience for those seeking adventure and a different
unique view of the Falls.
NOTE: You will get drenched. Be sure to
have plenty of protection from the water. Not only will the spray
get you, but the boat's captain will make every effort to bring you
under the falls, and that means getting wet. A rain poncho can be
purchased at the pier for around US$3.00. Also, bring protection for
your camera and be prepared with a fresh roll of film already loaded
so you don't miss a single shot.
