Tour
Description: All
Ariau Amazon Towers packages ( including the
4 days / 3
nights and
2 days / 1 night
) include
excursions into the rainforest, on rivers and lakes
surrounding the lodge. Depending on changing water levels,
weather conditions at the time of your visit and other
factors beyond the control of the guides, different
activities may be scheduled. The day by day program shown
below is therefore to be considered "tentative" and can be
changed at any time, however, your professional Naturalist
guides will do all they can to make your discovery into the
Amazon as exciting as possible. When leaving the lodge we
may head out by canoe, make a jungle walk, fish for the
infamous piranha, visit native
houses, observe nocturnal wildlife etc.

A normal day at Ariau Amazon Towers begins with a breakfast
buffet followed by a morning excursion into the forest or on
the waters of the tributaries. Return to the lodge for lunch
and after your meal, and some rest, the guides will then
take us out on and afternoon exploration trip into a
different part of the jungle. At night there will yet be
another activity. On all excursions into the jungle and on
the waters you will be accompanied by your local bi-lingual
naturalist guides who will explain and teach you about the
flora and fauna of the Amazon rainforest. |

Day 2 -
Ariau Amazon Towers / Sightseeing
AM - You will wake up by the sound of the macaws and birds of
the rainforest. The morning hours are the best time to really
capture the "feel" for the Amazon. You may want to make an early
walk to the Rio Negro over the lodges' bridges or relax and listen
to the sounds. Breakfast at the lodge is at 7:30 AM followed by a 9
AM trek into the jungle. Our guides will make frequent stops to
explain about the plants, trees, insects, birds and other wildlife
that live in the area. Keep your cameras handy as we never know what
may come into shooting range. Return to the lodge for lunch.
PM - After lunch we head out for some fishing "Amazon style".
With no more than a simple pole, a hook and some meet we will be
trying to catch the infamous Piranha. The Rio Negro River is known
for excellent Peacock Bass fishing during certain times of the year,
ask us.
EVE - After dinner we leave the lodge by canoe and travel up
the river in search of the Amazon caiman. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3 -
Ariau Amazon Towers - Manaus / Sightseeing - Transfer
AM - Early morning wake up call for what may be one of the
highlights of this visit to the jungle. Some of your best pictures
will be taken during this sunrise tour by boat. You will have long
lasting memories of this magical time of the day when the sun slowly
starts to rise and the birds, insects and wildlife wake up from
another night. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
There are two options for the return transfer to Manaus on this last
day. The transfer boat will depart at 8 AM and at 2 PM - Your
option. On either return option to Manaus we will provide the
transfer to the airport or hotel in Manaus.
For those on afternoon departures you have the remainder of the morning at leisure at
the lodge to explore on your own. Maybe you would like to take a dip
in the pool or head out to the beach (seasonal). The lodge offers an
optional dolphin observation program where you can actually swim
with the wild pink river dolphins, a unique experience with a unique
kind of dolphin (ask us). Golf carts can be rented by the hour (ask
us) if you are not willing, or not able, to walk the miles and miles
of catwalks that connect the different parts of the lodge (map).
PM - Visitors on an afternoon transfer to Manaus will enjoy
lunch at the lodge and transfer to Manaus at 2 PM, arriving around
4:30 PM. Upon arrival at the dock transfer to the airport or hotel
in Manaus.
