Surrounded
by nearby mountains, the
city of Salta is located in the Northwestern part of the country in one of the most fertile and beautiful
areas of Argentina at an altitude of 1,187 meters above sea level.
The Hispanic architecture makes the city stand out from other cities
in the country and the colonial spirit from the times of its
foundation remains in houses, streets, hundred-year-old monuments
and narrow sidewalks.
Salta is the capital city of the homonymous province and a great
place to visit. Summers are mild and winters are warm and dry, with
annual average temperatures of 22șC.
A visit to Salta has a lot to offer. In the city we find numerous
statues, San Francisco Church, the Cathedral and interesting
historical and anthropological museums. One of the most popular
excursions is the "Tren a las Nubes" (The Train in the Clouds)
consisting of a train journey that takes visitors through the clouds
as it crosses The Andes at 4,220 meters above sea level. |
